About Us

Neuma is Canada’s psychedelic centre of excellence, home to the Psychedelic First Aid & Preparedness™ training program, accredited by St. Lawrence College. We specialize in psychedelic safety, responsible use information and public health education.

Our team of care professionals and advisors are backed by 50+ years of experience in mental health, harm reductions, indigenous health promotions, crisis management, public health policy and health innovation. We’ve worked on the frontlines of the healthcare system and successfully advocated for new health regulations to support the advancement of safe and effective psychedelic practices across North America. Through our education efforts we are building a more informed society, knowledgeable about the health-enhancing use of psychedelics.

A Centre Without Walls

As a centre without walls, our education and training programs are intentionally designed with a blend of in-person and virtual experiences to provide the most accessible, and reputable knowledge possible to support the growing demand for responsible, health-enhancing psychedelic experiences across the world.

Psychedelics can provoke profound, sometimes challenging experiences requiring immediate and knowledgeable care to navigate safely. Our training empowers participants with critical skills to handle psychedelic crises, promoting safer use within society and enhancing the health potential of these often life-changing experiences.

Our Mission

To elevate society’s understanding of the health-enhancing benefits of psychedelics through responsible use education and psychedelic safety training.

As the use of psychedelics grows within therapeutic and personal contexts, there is a crucial need for immediate and effective response strategies during psychedelic experiences, particularly those that are challenging or adverse. Psychedelic First Aid™ training addresses this need by equipping caregivers, health professionals, frontline workers and the general public with the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate and effective support.

Our Values

We believe that psychedelics can have a great impact on the health of our society and our goal is to steward their use in a safe and effective way.
Our intention with everything that we do is to empower those that can empower others, creating a lasting ripple effect across our communities and within our healthcare systems.

Integrity
In·teg·ri·ty /inˈteɡrədē/

In harmony with the practices and experiences we integrate into our community, we foster uncompromising honesty, reliability and a willingness to improve. We work from integrity to ensure all parts of the whole are healthy, strong and supported.

Respect
Re·spect /rəˈspekt/

Giving and receiving empathy, dignity, validation, and admiration for everyone’s different abilities, culture, qualities, challenges, and achievements. Listening openly and with curiosity to continuously learn from each other.

Equity
Eq·ui·ty /ˈekwədē/

Guided by a grounded notion of equity and self-care, we continue to do our self-work to bring awareness of our own privilege and cultural blind spots, ensuring a sense of respect, diversity, and reverence for all members of our community and ecology. By creating this sense of safe mutuality, we bring an anti-oppression lens to our work and continue to learn with humility and mutual respect.

Compassion
Com·pas·sion /kəmˈpaSHən/

Offering an authentic and empathetic exchange that inspires trust, equality, respect, creativity and collaboration. Individuals feel seen, heard and cared for. United as parts of the whole, the individuals are empowered to grow through the support and strength of the collective.

Our Team

With over 50 years of combined experience in mental health, harm reduction, and health regulation, our team at Neuma is uniquely qualified to lead the way in psychedelic safety & preparedness education.
