Meet Your Guide

Denise Neuman-Fuhr

Denise’s work is grounded in transcendent realms of thought and practice. This stems from graduate work in Transpersonal Psychology and Shadow Work, as well as years devoted to her own psychospiritual journey.

As a Transformational Coach, RN, and Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, she helps others to cultivate a greater sense of their own psychospiritual wholeness. “When we can notice, and then shift the internal dialogue that prevents us from living from our deepest and wisest Self, we realign our inner compass. We come home.”

Augmenting this is her work with Hakomi (a mindfulness-based embodiment practice), and training in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, Compassion Cultivation, Internal Family Systems for coaches, Life-Cycle Celebrant, and Reiki. Additional training in Psychedelic Harm Reduction, Therapsil's Psilocybin training for end-of-life care, and Psychedelic Sitters School (Center for Medicinal Mindfulness), reflects a growing passion for the deep healing available through plant medicines. Underscoring all of this is a deep resonance with indigenous spiritual worldviews and associated practices.

Denise works in private practice where she offers 1:1 coaching sessions, as well as a variety of workshops that focus on the transpersonal dimension of life. She also participates as a Sitter and Guide in various Neuma Centre Psychedelic Cannabis offerings where she invokes the Divine Feminine as a guiding force in journey space.

Frequently Asked Questions.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present to what’s happening in the moment, without judging it, or needing to change or fix anything. Meditation is a common type of mindfulness practice. It’s a valuable skill to develop for navigating life challenges, and for working more effectively in psychedelic journey space.

Do I need to be an experienced meditator?

While all experiences are welcome, this offering will be geared towards those who are newer to meditation. It will also be ideal for those wanting to develop greater mindfulness skills as a foundational practice for psychedelic experiences.

How do I communicate with the facilitator?

To reach Denise, contact denise.n.fuhr@gmail.com, Subject: “Neuma Sangha”.

What is Sangha?

A Sangha is a term used by the Asian lineages that created this practice. It means “community”. When we come together in community, we help support each other in our mindfulness practice.

What is the fee?

Dana is a practice of generosity that stems from Buddhist tradition. It “invites us into a relationship of mutuality, care, and joyful connection” through mindful and heart-based giving (Oren Jay Sofer). While dana can include care, service, or finances, participants of the Mindfulness Meditation Community Sangha at Neuma are invited to make a financial contribution as a way of supporting and sustaining this offering over time. The launch fee is $10 per class. A Sliding Scale format will be implemented soon.

Is this a therapy program?

This is not a therapy program. While we value therapy, we believe peer support is an additive, equally effective tool to help aid in the expansion of our minds and reaching of our goals and mental health enhancements.
